[tps_title]2017 NFL Combine: 8 WR participants to watch for the Dallas Cowboys[/tps_title]
[3/8] Chad Hansen, California (6’2″, 205)
Why he’s on this list: Chad Hansen is a wide receiver that has been able to fly somewhat under the radar, but that will change after he puts on a show at the NFL combine. I personally have a late second, early third round grade on him right now, but I think he could improve his draft stock with a good performance at the combine.
Hansen is another natural hands catcher and possesses a wide catching radius. He is able to go up and catch the ball the highest point and shows the on the field awareness to get his feet down in bounds. He also shows a smoothness and fluidity when getting in and out of his breaks on game film.
Unfortunately, he only has just one year of production at Cal as a full-time starter. But, he turned that opportunity into a 92 catch, 1,249 yard, 11 touchdown season.
What to watch for at the NFL combine: With just one year production at Cal as a full-time starter, there will be questions about whether or not he is just a flash in the pan WR. That is why the NFL combine is so important for him to solidify himself as one of the better WRs in this draft class.
With such a small sample size to go on, every single drill, interview, and measurement will go a long ways in Hansen’s evaluation. As things stand right now, he is in play for the Dallas Cowboys at 60, but with such a deep WR draft class, he may still be there in the third round.
