[tps_title]2017 NFL Combine: 6 CB participants to watch for the Dallas Cowboys[/tps_title]
[3/6] Tre’Davious White, LSU (6’0″, 184)
The last time the Dallas Cowboys drafted a CB in the first round was on another LSU Tiger, Morris Claiborne. That didn’t workout like they would’ve liked, so they could receive a lot of flak from their fan base if they decide to draft Tre’Davious White at 28. A past failure shouldn’t sway the Cowboys at all, because White is a talented player.
White has been the starting CB for the Tigers for the better part of the last four seasons in both the slot and on the outside. He is a quick twitch athlete with exceptional footwork. He has experience playing outside on an island and doesn’t shy away from matching up with the opposing teams best WR.
He is more of a finesse CB and that can cause him problems because of his thin frame. Bigger WRs can overpower him, which is especially concerning if teams want him to be an outside CB. In the slot, the smaller/quicker WRs also give him problems.
I’m not sure how high the Cowboys will be on him, but he could be a consideration at 28. I think they would prefer a bigger CB that can play on the outside, because he is very similar to what they already have on the roster.
I personally like White, but I want to see him compared to some of these other projected late first, early second cornerbacks at the NFL combine.
This is the year, the Cowboys will draft Seattle like secondary players , to take the Cowboys to another level Furthermore, those additions, will have Sean Lee, Jaylon Smith, Byron Jones, and Anthony Brown, flourish, in a proactive mode, especially, if the Cowboys land Takk and AQ Muhammad at the defensive end position. It’s Charles Haley an Harvey Martin, show again!!
I think all of us Cowboys fans are hoping that’s the case.
