Round 7 (via Chicago in exchange for Dante Rosario): Kevin Norwood, WR, Alabama
Norwood projects as a sixth round prospect but due to the depth of the wide receiver class the Cowboys are able to get value in him late.
Norwood possess good size at 6’2 but is a little on the light side at just under 200 lbs. Norwood possess a strong ability as an outside receiver. He grades as a plus route runner who lacks top-end speed but is fearless in traffic and over the middle. Fundamentally speaking Norwood is a very capable receiver who can find a career as a depth guy but has a ceiling as a starter with some development.
The Cowboys are more than likely going to release Miles Austin and will need to find an outside receiver for depth purposes. Norwood with worth the late gamble and could end up being a diamond in the rough.
