Will-Sutton

Round 3: Will Sutton, DT, Arizona State University

If it weren’t for some inconsistency in his play and some questions about his measurables, Sutton would be an easy first- or second-round pick.

His loss is the Cowboys gain.

Sutton is an explosive defensive tackle who can play both the 1- and 3-technique in the 4-3 defense. He plays with exceptional leverage and explosiveness. One thing you love about Sutton is his ability to get after the passer. Though he’ll have some deficiencies as a run-defender, he is the quintessential “Rushman” and could prove to be a huge asset for a defense in need of young, long-term talent on the defensive line.

  1. I love the Telvin Smith pick but I think but I think they should look at him as a possible safety. Position flexability always makes a player more attractive.

    • I don’t know. Smith as a safety just reminds me of Roy Williams and I think the ‘Boys need a real ball-hawk in the secondary. But if he’s quick as Bo says then maybe pass disruption could make him a good enough fit. Certainly a lot of room for improvement over the current personnel.
