Round 5: Caraun Reid, DT, Princeton

Reid is similar to Sutton in that he’s an explosive 4-3 defensive lineman with excellent pass-rush ability but needs work in other facets of his game. He has an impressive repertoire of pass-rushing moves and understands how to utilize leverage and explosion to beat opposing linemen.

The biggest question about Reid is whether he can compete at the higher level. On tape he explodes at you. He’s proven to be durable and at times dominant. Also possesses excellent character off the field which makes any risk associated with him more than worth it.

  1. I love the Telvin Smith pick but I think but I think they should look at him as a possible safety. Position flexability always makes a player more attractive.

    • I don’t know. Smith as a safety just reminds me of Roy Williams and I think the ‘Boys need a real ball-hawk in the secondary. But if he’s quick as Bo says then maybe pass disruption could make him a good enough fit. Certainly a lot of room for improvement over the current personnel.
